HOPCC Hinesville
On Fire Missions is continuing an in-depth look into HOPCC Hinesville. HOPCC stands for House of Prayer Christian Church; it is a common acronym used for the church. This remarkable non-denominational organization is in the Hinesville, GA community. This article of On Fire Missions will showcase a few of the church’s ministries in the greater community. Now more than ever, the world needs churches that are On Fire with a passion for missions. On Fire Missions has found this church to meet the criteria as one that is truly mission-minded!
HOPCC Hinesville Food Pantry
HOPCC Hinesville operates a food pantry in the local community. The food pantry is open to anyone that needs food and other supplies. The church has always exemplified generosity in giving. Paul, in the Book of Acts, said in Acts 20:35, “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” (NIV). HOPCC Hinesville is a giving church, and many have benefited from the food pantry ministry. No one knows when hard times will strike. Especially during the current COVID-19 crisis throughout the world. On Fire Missions is thankful for the continued labor of love showed by all churches that have opened their doors and shown love to the hungry and unfortunate.
HOPCC Hinesville Operation Homeless
HOPCC Hinesville has participated in homeless ministries. An existing On Fire Missions page called HOPCC Charities has inspiring pictures that rekindle a zeal for charitable missions. The members of this church ministered in orphanages in faraway countries such as India, Israel, and Brazil, on HOPCC missionary trips. And in major American cities like Chicago and Baltimore. What is even more impressive is that church members from this church took part in a local homeless mission called Operation Homeless in Hinesville, GA. Many of the church members volunteered to help out in the local effort, and the children’s choir even sang during the mission. The church members helped to distribute necessities, food, supplies, and aid to those in need. Tragic circumstances can strike at any time, and what is needed many times is a place that can help people get back on their feet. On Fire Missions is proud to honor those organizations, churches, and charitable ministries that fulfill the Good Samaritan role in our society today. In the Gospel of Matthew, the Bible says, Matt 25:34 to 40, “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (NIV) In studying church ministries, one cannot ignore the ministry of charity to the homeless. HOPCC Hinesville has once again received a star from On Fire Missions for its work in helping the homeless.
Spanish ministry to migrant workers
Another awesome ministry of HOPCC Hinesville is the Spanish ministry to the migrant workers from Latin America. There is a Spanish congregation called Casa de Oración that is part of this church on Airport Rd. It is here that many migrant workers whose mother language is Spanish have attended worship services, Bible studies, and fellowship in Spanish. The impact is lasting, in which some of the workers continue to attend Casa de Oración year after year when they are in the Southeast Georgia area working. The Spanish brothers and sisters are not forgotten; many frequently fellowship with the HOPCC church members and have started home churches in their respective communities in Latin America. In January of 2020, HOPCC Hinesville missionaries traveled to Mexico and visited many of the same brothers and sisters that had been part of Casa de Oración in Hinesville, GA.
In conclusion, the On Fire Missions board of directors is impressed with the ministerial work of HOPCC Hinesville. The church is active in missionary work overseas and in the local area of Hinesville, GA. The church has helped many souls from many different mission fields, from homeless ministries, the food pantry distribution mission, and the Spanish ministry named Casa de Oración. Jesus Christ said, in John 4:35 to 38, “Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now, the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.” (NIV). HOPCC in Hinesville, GA, has and is continuing to sow seeds of hope and reap the fruit of transformed lives.
