The Place of Help Hinesville Georgia

“Help” is something that everyone will need at some point in their life, especially in today’s society.  That is a fact recognized by the aptly named the “Place of Help Hinesville Georgia.”  Here at On Fire Missions, we will highlight some of the many dimensions this help takes at this ministry. Though the city of Hinesville itself is small, the outreach is by no means limited to this one municipality.  The hands of these laborers have reached out down the street and around the world. Let’s explore!

The Place of Help Hinesville Georgia local ministries

Beginning right at the building, there is a banner hung over the front door, calling everyone who passes by to “Come pray with us.” Many hurting souls have accepted this invitation to come off the streets to pray. Before they ever cross the threshold, they will be welcomed by a brother or sister and ushered inside. Even if no service is actively ongoing, there are many testimonies of men and women brought in this way, just for a time of personal prayer. In times of distress, loss, or confusion, there is peace and comfort in just spending quiet time in the sanctuary with God. There is always someone available to pray with them, encourage them, or just be a listening ear. The members of the church love to win souls. Also, the Place of Help Hinesville, Georgia, is known worldwide for being a base of intercessory prayer. Prayer requests pour in daily to worshipers from family members, as near as Atlanta and as far as Maine, as well as friends and acquaintances in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Brazil, Korea, India, Israel, Africa, and France.  The list goes on. Each one is brought before the congregation. These prayer warriors will lift up fervent prayers for every person and situation. Then, whether days or months later, when good news reports return, all the glory is given to the God who answers prayer!

Nursing homes, detention centers, and government offices

As we said before, the congregation of the Place of Help Hinesville, Georgia, is not limited to the building’s four walls.  For many years, bands of brothers and sisters have taken love and light into the surrounding nursing homes. These elderly people have often been forgotten, left to live out the rest of their days alone. But week after week, when others canceled services or stopped showing up, the faithful teams returned again and again. During their visits, the vibrant Christians will hold Bible studies or church services. Sometimes they just sit and listen to stories of decades past. During the holidays, the HOPCC youth choir accompanies them and sings songs of praise and rejoicing.  The halls are filled with music and laughter. This same youth choir has also sung multiple times at City Hall, the courthouse, and the State Capitol building in Atlanta at yearly National Days of Prayer services and several Thanksgiving and Christmas events. Many parishioners have volunteered for years at Salvation Army missions where they play and sing for the homeless and serve food to the hungry who gather.  Smaller teams of workers have coordinated with multiple jurisdictions to visit local jails and juvenile detention centers. These are especially heartbreaking because some of the children they encounter have never heard the Gospel message or ever touched a Bible. Imagine the light on the face of a boy who has just prayed for the first time or a girl who has just read a Bible verse about the love of Jesus!

The Place of Help Hinesville George’s food bank

Another aspect of the Place of Help Hinesville, Georgia, which is felt and appreciated far away from Hinesville is their food bank. A few parishioners travel to local grocery stores and food bank pick-up locations several days a week to collect boxes and coolers filled with supplies. These supplies are brought to the on-site distribution area and sorted, marked, and organized into individual packages ready for pickup. The volunteers spend countless hours in this preparation and more in physically handing out these bundles of nutrition. In addition, many housebound or quarantined families call and request a delivery. Then, other volunteers tirelessly drive through the neighborhoods to bring the much-needed bags of sustenance along with a smile and a word of encouragement because, in the eyes of this body of believers at the Place of Help Hinesville, Georgia, nothing is ever just “ a task.”  Everything is a mission, everything is a cause, and everything is an opportunity to touch a life for Christ.  The Bible says in Col 3:23 (NIV), “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”  However, this food bank has farther-reaching arms. Through the many missionary trips the Place of Help Hinesville Georgia has taken, several countries have made contacts. Two of these countries are Mexico and Haiti, and this amazing ministry has sent several shipments of donations to those two places. Members of the churches band together and collect clothing, Bibles, children’s toys, musical instruments, and monetary gifts to send to the local Mexican and Haitian congregations. When the boxes and barrels are received, the brothers and sisters and their children are delighted and send back pictures of themselves distributing the blessings to neighboring towns and churches, or the children wearing their new clothes, holding their new Bibles! The testimony of one sister in Mexico was “House of Prayer doesn’t forget anyone!” Indeed the hearts and memories of these dedicated servants of the Lord are full of love for every soul they have met. They rejoice to share the blessings they have received!

As you can see, the Place of Help Hinesville, Georgia, takes its mission seriously and with great zeal and energy. Their unstoppable labors have blessed many souls, and we pray that they will receive more courage and grace to continue to strengthen and aid the poor and needy all around the world.
